A world of words. This is what Gianni Davico calls his "creature": Tesi & testi of Turin, leader in technical translations and technical writing through a network that joins hundreds of collaborators. This Piedmontese company can therefore be considered an excellent point of reference to practice a profession directly from your home.

Tesi & testi is always looking for freelancers who are skilled, qualified and motivated, to expand its team of translators and better serve its customers, which are for the most part large companies. Obviously the candidates must have a computer, an excellent command of Italian and speak other languages fluently as well.

But what does the work consist of? "Our daily work”, Davico points out, “can be divided into two main categories of translations projects: the urgent jobs, documents such as faxes, business letters and the like, for which it is important to know and make known the content promptly rather than producing a version with perfect style. In other words, stylistic embellishments are not important in these cases. Then there are the translations of manuals, guidebooks, brochures and the like. These are more complex jobs where style becomes vital. In this case, the texts generally are responsible for the image of the company which will travel the world. In both cases, our freelancers must guarantee the quality of their work, as well as respect deadlines, whilst the organisation of the work is autonomous and totally up to them".
